Port Wine and Catalonian Cuisine Pairing

Editors note: Last article, I complained about press releases that did nothing to give people information that is of use. On the other hand, sometimes there is a release with information that we can benefit from. I found this and thought you might find interesting.

Port Wine and Catalonian Creativity: an Irresistable Combination

Following on the heels of a similar event held in Madrid earlier in the year, the IVDP will host a “Port Wine and Catalonian Cuisine Pairing” dinner on 26th June at the El Prinicipal de Tragaluz restaurant in Barcelona.

Both wine journalists and top sommeliers will first be treated to a tasting of 24 Vintages from 2003, and will then have the opportunity to savour a series of wonderful pairings especially created to bring out the best in both Port and Douro wine, and Catalonian cuisine, renowned for its quality and creativity.

In a market which last year increased its imports of Port by 9,6%, Spain is proof positive that the rivalry can also lead to memorable (and delicious) partnership: marriages made in Heaven.
